Toolse youth camp was build
in 60-ties for children whose parents worked in a cement factory nearby.
Don't get scared, it wasn't a concentration camp where children had to
stay and wait till their mum and dad finished working. It was (and still
is) a camp where young people gathered during summer and had fun: doing
sports, playing games, swimming, hiking, having discos, learning many new
and useful things. Just like You when You decide to become a pioneer.
During the Soviet regime the
whole Union was covered with pioneer camps and most of the children spent
their whole summer in them, meeting new friends and doing a lot of
interesting stuff. So in a way, pioneer camps were like a Soviet version
of Summer Universities.
In Toolse camp you can
witness the Soviet with Your own eyes and other 6 or 7 senses You have. To
some it may seem even shocking, to some it is pure nostalgia and to some
it is a true challenge to experience the life that young people had during
the era of socialism. What is the most important: there are incredible
surroundings in Toolse. Nearby is beach, several open air museums and
breathtaking nature all around You. I bet some of You haven't even seen so
many trees in one place
J
The camp itself has all the
necessary buildings and equipments. You will sleep in the camp houses and
there is also a diner and a playhouse; sauna; ball field and a flagpole
(very important thing!).
To sum up, we will provide
you the most perfect place to really Communicate with people and make up a
real team, to put in practice Your craziest ideas and to find out
something You didn't realize before... |
